Woodland Hills Cyclist Killed In Lake Balboa
A 48-year-old bicyclist was killed when he was hit by an SUV while riding near Sherman Way.

LAKE BALBOA, CA — A 48-year-old bicyclist who suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by an SUV in the Lake Balboa area was identified Thursday by the coroner's office as Matthew Barnett of Woodland Hills.
Barnett was struck about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 7100 block of Hayvenhurst Avenue, near Sherman Way, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A second bicyclist who was riding with Barnett was also struck and was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.

The driver of the SUV, which was traveling north in the same direction as the bicyclists, stopped as required and was not arrested, although the crash remains under investigation.
