• Yuba City police, Sutter County sheriff to launch new Special Investigations Unit (fox40.com) — Yuba City police and the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office are creating a new Special Investigations Unit to tackle narcotics, violent crime, firearms offenses, and repeat offenders across Yuba City and Sutter County. The unit will replace the long-running NET-5 task force on July 1, pending approval from the Yuba City Council and Sutter County supervisors, and aims to improve coordination and prosecution of serious cases. 
• Person arrested for DUI after crashing into building in Yuba City, police say (fox40.com) — A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing into a building near B Street and Clark Avenue in Yuba City early Wednesday morning, according to police. Officers say the 27-year-old fled on foot but was quickly found with help from a Sutter County deputy. Yuba City police are using the incident to remind residents to plan safe rides and avoid drinking and driving.
• Two charged with murder in Sutter County teen's death appear in court (abc10.com) — A murder case closely watched in Yuba City and Sutter County moved forward Thursday as two caregivers accused in the starvation death of a 14-year-old girl briefly appeared in court. Family members from the area attended the hearing, shared memories of the teen, and said they’re hoping the upcoming May arraignment and high bail conditions will bring them closer to justice.
