Applications open for Yucca Valley's Youth Commission (z1077fm.com) — Yucca Valley students entering grades 7–12 can now apply to serve on the town’s Youth Commission, which advises local elected officials and helps shape youth-focused programs. Members meet with Town of Yucca Valley staff during the school year, organize activities, and volunteer at community events, with applications due by September 2.

Yucca Valley Planning Commission defines aesthetic for residential shipping containers (z1077fm.com) — Yucca Valley’s Planning Commission has approved new design rules for residential shipping containers, requiring at least three treatments that match the home’s look on smaller lots. The meeting also highlighted major local projects, including Yucca Trail and Indio Avenue road work, progress on the Aquatics Center, and several new businesses now under construction or recently opened in town.

Graham breaks record, Wallace ties '78 jump; Wildcat track and field teams earn double wins against Trojans (hidesertstar.com) — Yucca Valley High School’s track and field teams traveled to Twentynine Palms, where the Wildcats captured both the boys’ and girls’ meets and set several school and personal records. Local athletes from Yucca Valley faced standout performances in hurdles, jumps, distance races, and relays, as Twentynine Palms competitors qualified for upcoming Desert Valley League finals in Indio.
