Amazon Continues Colorado Expansion With Thornton Fulfillment Center
The retailer plans a 855,000 square foot center that will create 1,500 jobs.

Amazon continues to expand its presence in Colorado. On Monday, the online retail giant announced plans to open a new robotics fulfillment center in Thornton that will employ 1,500 people. The 855,000 square-foot facility will focus on smaller items such as books, toys, and electronics and will be staffed by people who will work alongside the company's robots. It is to be the first Amazon robotics center in Colorado.
The company has already announced plans for a 1 million square-foot center in Aurora that will employ 1,000 people and a smaller facility in Boulder.
