Boulder Valley School District Superintendent Fired
Bruce Messenger had been on paid leave since March 28.

The Boulder Valley School District Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday night to fire superintendent Bruce Messenger. The board had placed him on administrative leave on March 28 because of an internal probe, the detail of which have not been disclosed.
The board made the announcement at a packed meeting. Many parents are upset that the board is not being more transparent.
Messenger, who took over as superintendent in 2011 after 14 years running a school district in Helena, Montana, was the state's superintendent of the year last year.
