Broomfield Child Killed: Police Say Man In Custody

A child is dead in Broomfield. Police say it's a homicide. A man is in custody.

Officers went to a home on the 4200 block of 136th Avenue around 9:30 a.m. after 9-1-1 received a hang-up call. When they arrived they discovered a young child who was dead.

A man in his 20s was taken into custody.

Police say they do not believe there is a danger to the community.

The next of kin has not yet been notified, police say.

West 136th Avenue between Lowell and Broadlands Drive is closed.
