Coal Creek Canyon Deaths Not Murder-Suicide, Sheriff's Office Says

The sheriff's home believe that the home was "specifically targeted."

Investigators say that the three bodies found in a Coal Creek Canyon home Sunday morning were the victims of homicide and that the home had likely been "specifically targeted." While the Boulder County Sheriff's Office says that they have ruled out murder-suicide and no one is in custody, they believe there is no general threat to the public.

The sheriff's office was called to the home on the 800 block of Divide View Drive around 7:30 after dispatchers received a call from someone asking deputies to check on his friends because he hadn't heard from them in several days.

Deputies quickly located two bodies but then backed out of the home until they could be sure it was safe to be inside.

Once that happened, they were able to go in. That's when they found the third body.

The victims have been identified as:

  • Wallace White, 54, of Golden;
  • Kelly Sloat-White, 56, of Golden; and
  • Emory Fraker, 39, of Broomfield.

Each had suffered a traumatic injury.

The sheriff's office says there are more than 20 investigators assigned to the case, which they anticipate will be "lengthy."
