According to government data posted Sunday afternoon, there were 7,303 cases of the new coronavirus in Colorado among 37,153 people who have been tested. There were 1,417 people hospitalized, and 290 deaths were confirmed.
State health officials said they believe around 17,000 or 18,000 Coloradans have already had COVID-19, which is .03 to .03 percent of the state's population.
Colorado's stay-at-home order has been extended until April 26 amid the spread of the new coronavirus, Polis announced in a state address April 6. The order was previously set to end Saturday, so Coloradans received an emergency alert about the extension on their phones Saturday morning.
