Colorado Coronavirus Update: More Than 4,000 New Cases In 1 Week

Over the past week, 4,072 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Colorado, according to public health data.

The surge of new cases has been linked to the University of Colorado Boulder and other colleges in our state. Boulder County Public Health issued an order Thursday that requires everyone between the ages of 18 to 22 to halt gatherings. Denver has also issued an order — albeit less restrictive — that includes a series of requirements to combat the spread of the virus on college campuses in the city.

As of Thursday, 67,217 people have been infected with the coronavirus in our state among 858,108 people who have been tested since the outbreak began, health officials confirmed.

Around 7,454 people have been hospitalized, and the death toll has reached 1,935.
