Colorado Counties To Oversee 3 Elections In 2020

For the first time in two decades, Colorado will host a presidential primary. Is your voter registration up to date?

Colorado voters will be making some important decisions in 2020. Many regions in our state saw record-breaking voter participation in the 2019 coordinated election; however, even higher participation is expected in upcoming elections.

All Colorado counties will oversee three elections in 2020. On March 3, or Super Tuesday, voters will cast their ballots for Republican and Democratic candidates.

Voters will also cast ballots in the June 30 Primary Election, which will determine each party’s candidates for municipal, county and statewide offices.

The winners of the June primary will advance to the General Election Nov. 3, which will include qualified ballot measures, such as the gray wolf reintroduction initiative. The November election will also include judicial nominees.

Colorado is enacting a new law in 2020 that will allow 17-year-olds to vote in the 2020 primary if they turn 18 before the general election. The sweeping new election law, which is aimed at improving young voter turnout, will require voting centers and drop boxes at every college campus.
