Colorado Dad Arrested In Son's 2012 Death Jailed On $1M Bail

DURANGO, CO — A Colorado man arrested in the 2012 death of his 13-year-old son has been jailed on $1 million bail.

Mark Redwine was arrested in Washington state and appeared in court Monday in the death of Dylan Redwine, whose remains were found about 10 miles from the father's home in Vallecito, Colorado in 2013.

The boy had traveled to be with his father for a court-ordered visit the previous Thanksgiving, The Durango Herald reported. Mark Redwine and the boy's mother had gone through a contentious custody battle.

Blood found in the elder Redwine's home matched Dylan's DNA, and a cadaver dog picked up the scent of a body on the father's clothes and in his truck, an indictment said.(For more Across Colorado news, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts. Mark Redwine has denied any involvement.
