Colorado Daylight Saving Time 2017: 'Fall Back' This Weekend

Don't forget to set your clock an hour earlier for Sunday, Nov. 5 when Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend.

DENVER, CO -- Don't forget to "fall back" this Sunday when Daylight Saving Time for 2017 ends this upcoming weekend. Daylight saving time (DST) ends at 2 a.m. on Nov. 5. Most people set their clocks back one hour before going to bed on Saturday.

This year, as in 2011 and 2013, Colorado lawmakers killed a bill that tried to make Daylight Saving Time permanent, with a bill introduced in the House Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resources Committee. A 2014 Colorado University study showed that changing the time back and forth was correlated with more than 300 deaths over 10 years from auto accidents, heart attacks and stress.

But members of the ski industry said getting rid of the time change would confuse tourists and interfere with daily safety checks on the slope equipment. The committee postponed the vote on the bill indefinitely, so it's unlikely Colorado will see the daylight saving time changes end any time soon.
