Colorado Jobs: State Unemployment Rate Drops To 2.3 Percent
The state's unemployment rate is more than two percent the national level.

Looking for work in Colorado? Chances you are going to be facing less competition. The state announced Friday that the unemployment rate plummeted to 2.3 percent in April.
That's a full percentage point drop from the previous year and more than two percentage points below the national rate of 4.4 percent.
This is the lowest unemployment rate for Colorado since the state started keeping track in 1976.

The state says that employers added 1,800 nonfarm jobs from the previous month while the private sextor payroll added 3,600 jobs.
Government payroll did decrease by 1,800 jobs.

Overall, the number of people actively participating in the workforce grew 12,100 over the previous month, bringing the total to 2,945,300.
