Englewood Murder: Homeless Man Already In Jail Charged

A man already on charges related to the murder of a homeless man in November is now charged in connection with the death of another man.

A homeless man already being held on connection with the death of a man whose body was found along the South Platte River in November, now faces charges in connection with the death of a man found dead in February.

Mikhail Purpera, a 29-year-old, has been in jail on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 54-year-old Wayland Busby, a homeless man found shot to death.

Police now say is also charged with suspicion of first degree murder and other charges in connection with the death of Patrick Steven Murphy, an Englewood man whose body was found in a duck pond there in February.

Officials say they believe that Murphy, who had been shot in the head, had been in the pond since the previous November.

Purpera is also wanted in Gonzales, Louisiana, on two counts of attempted murder in connection with a shooting there last summer.

He was arrested n November after allegedly shoplifting from a Walmart in Englewood. At the time he was found with documents with Murphy's name on them.
