How To Contribute To Colorado's Wildfire Fund
A statewide fund has been set up to help Colorado wildfire victims.
Countless homes have been destroyed by wildfires in Colorado and many people have been displaced. A new statewide fund has been set up to help the wildfire victims.
The state partnered with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy to set up the fund, which will help communities recover through "targeted grantmaking that prioritizes medium- to long-term recovery," state officials said.
The state released the following goals for the fund:

- Targeting and supporting vulnerable populations and communities that have been disproportionately affected.
- Identifying and filling in gaps where public resources are unavailable or scarce.
- Giving locally and prioritizing grants to community nonprofits and community groups.
- Building and supporting collaborative relationships among donors.
“Colorado communities have been devastated by historic, climate-induced wildfires and this fund will help us swiftly respond, build up reserves throughout the year and more, while strategically allocating funding to communities who need it the most,” Gov. Jared Polis said in a statement.
“I encourage Coloradans and any individual or organization willing to help our communities impacted by wildfires.”
