Missing Sno Cat, Weapons and Drugs Found In Grand Junction

Mesa County sheriff's deputies found a missing 'General Lee' Sno Cat plow, plus guns and narcotics in a Grand Junction garage.

GRAND JUNCTION, CO -- A Sno-Cat plow, stolen from a parking lot in Minturn, west of Vail, was tracked Sunday evening, with the help of social media, to a Grand Junction garage, where sheriff's deputies also found guns and drugs, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office said.

The distinctive plow, with tread wheels and a "General Lee" paint job resembling the Dukes of Hazard TV roadster, was stored on a trailer in the parking lot of the Turn Table restaurant in Minturn. When it disappeared, owners took to the internet begging for its return.

Tips to the Eagle County Sheriff's Office led to a garage in the 1800 block of Deer Park Circle in Grand Junction. When deputies arrived with a warrant Sunday, resident Jason Cuervo, 27, allegedly barricaded himself in the home. Grand Junction Police Department SWAT teams arrived Sunday night and neighbors in 55 residences were told to "shelter in place."

Cuervo reportedly slipped away, but the stolen snow plow was recovered. Weapons, ammunition, drugs and drug paraphernalia were also recovered from the garage, the sheriff's office said in a statement.
