Train Collides With Semi Truck In Weld County

WELD COUNTY, CO — A train struck a semi truck Wednesday morning in Weld County, causing the derailment of more than a dozen train cars. No injuries were reported.

The train struck a tractor trailer crossing at the Highway 85 intersection with County Road 30. Some of the train cars crashed onto the highway.

All lanes of Highway 85 south of Platteville will be closed until the cleanup is completed. An investigation is underway.

Diesel fuel spilled in the crash, according to the Weld County Office of Emergency Managment. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
