1 In Custody After Teen Shot, Killed In Arvada

The Arvada Police Department is investigating a homicide.

ARVADA, CO — A teenager has died after he was shot Thursday night in Arvada. A person is in custody and faces manslaughter charges, according to the Arvada Police Department.

Officers were called to the 8100 block of Chase Drive around 6:45 p.m. after someone called and said there was a shooting inside a home, according to the Arvada Police Department. Upon their arrival, the officers found the teen with a gunshot wound. He later died, police said.

An investigation was launched and two teens were detained; however one of the teens was released with no charges.

The second teen faces manslaughter charges for "recklessly causing the death of another person," police said. He is being held at a detention facility while an investigation is underway.
