Arvada City Recognized For Excellence In Financial Reporting For 37th Consecutive Year

The City of Arvada has announced that it has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2019.

This is the 37th consecutive year the City has received the certificate of achievement, which is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“Each year we receive this recognition is meaningful,” said City of Arvada Finance Director Bryan Archer. “We work hard to provide a well-managed, fiscally responsible government to Arvada that operates effectively and efficiently, and this award continues to be a sign that we are on the right track.”

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report contains information summarizing the City’s financial position and is essentially the City’s public financial statement. GFOA found that the City’s 2019 report demonstrated a "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story. The latest version is available at https://arvada.org/financial-updates.
