Arvada Judge Orders Pit Bull To Be Euthanized After Attacks
A pit bull who attacked one dog and killed another has been euthanized.
ARVADA, CO — An Arvada municipal judge ordered a pit bull to be euthanized after it killed one dog and injured another in separate attacks. The owners of a white pit bull named Chata pleaded guilty to possession of a dangerous animal.
In a ruling Monday morning, the judge ordered the pit bull to be euthanized by 5 p.m. the same day.
Chata was known for chasing and trying to attack neighbors and their dogs, according to a letter to the judge obtained by Fox 31 Denver. The pit bull locked its jaw around a Golden Doodle's neck April 15, and its owner was bit in her hand when she tried to fend off Chata, the letter said.
