Arvada Man Arrested In Connection With Assault In Wisconsin
Johnathan Alan Maxson, 32, is being extradited to Wisconsin after a random attack on a man who was shoveling snow, Marinette police said.

ARVADA, CO — An Arvada man is accused of attacking a person who was shoveling snow in Marinette, Wisconsin. The assault occurred Dec. 11 in the 1800 block of Stephenson St., according to the Marinette Police Department.
Johnathan Alan Maxson, 32, will be extradited to Wisconsin to face charges of first-degree reckless injury, aggravated battery and disorderly conduct.
The man who was attacked said Maxson went up to him and asked for a lighter, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Action 2 News. When the victim said he didn't have one, Maxson asked him if he was a child molester, and the victim said he was going inside. Maxson then punched him more than a dozen times, kicked him, and began beating him with the shovel, Action 2 reported. Maxson continued to call him a molester.

Marinette police released a surveillance photo of Maxson at a local bar. Investigators learned that he had family in Marinette, and had bought a bus ticket back to Colorado.
Maxson was arrested Dec. 30, and he's being held in the Jefferson County jail while he awaits extradition.
