Arvada Officials Warn Of False Water Contamination Claims
Solicitors have been implying that dangerous chemicals may be found in local drinking water, the City of Arvada said.
ARVADA, CO — Several private companies have been distributing digital and print information that claim water quality may be poor in Denver's metro areas, according to City of Arvada officials. Some of the solicitations imply that "dangerous" chemicals may be present in the water, the city said. The city is working to debunk those claims, and said strict water quality standards are maintained in Arvada.
"Sixty employees staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year make sure that water is properly treated, adequately tested and efficiently distributed to homes and businesses," Arvada officials said in a notification to residents. "The City of Arvada continuously complies with the strict federal regulations of the Safe Drinking Water Act as well as state regulations provided in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Primary Drinking Water Regulations."
Arvada's water supply has never exceeded any of the regulatory limits and has never received a drinking water violation, the city said.
