Arvada Police Entry-Level Applications Start Soon
Arvada Police Dept. will begin accepting applications for entry-level Academy positions between Dec. 15, 2017 - Jan. 19, 2018
ARVADA, CO -- The Arvada Police Dept. will open applications for their entry-level police training academy Fall, 2018 classes between Dec. 15, 2017- Jan. 19, 2018.
Arvada Police Department hires eligible candidates who:
- Have obtained a bachelor's degree or higher in any field of study (or college seniors in their final semester)
Salary Ranges for Arvada police are:

- Police Officer: $5055.55 to $6935.38/per month. Candidates with prior law enforcement experience may be hired at a level within the range pursuant to lateral entry guidelines.
- Police Recruit II: $4647.33/per month.
- Police Recruit I: $4503.63/per month.
Non-certified applicants are hired as Police Recruits until successful completion of the academy and the Colorado P.O.S.T Examination.
All candidates for employment with the Arvada Police Department are required to submit to a pre-employment polygraph. Below is a list of areas that will be explored during the polygraph.

- Complete disclosure of all information pertinent to employment with the Arvada Police Department. This includes application, credentials, employment history, and references.
- Information pertinent to past employment, including dates, positions held, reasons for separation, and misconduct while employed.
- Military service record.
- Driving history.
- Criminal activity, including illegal drug use within the last 5 years.
- Financial difficulties, including excessive debts, bad checks, foreclosures, garnishments.
- Perjury or fraud, including falsifying company records, falsifying police reports or other governmental records, accepting bribes or gratuities.
- Any misconduct as a police officer, including criminal activity, damage to property, abuse of authority, excessive force.
- Any activity that would compromise the Police Department or allow you to be blackmailed.
- Any other information pertinent to your employment with the Arvada Police Department.
Candidates will be disqualified if they have used marijuana of any form or other drugs or abused alcohol, have citations for driving (hit and runs, DUI, drag racing), have falsified documents such as college degree credentials, have any felony convictions.
