Arvada's $4.5M Energy Conservation Project Complete
The city announced the completion of 15 facility upgrades.
ARVADA, CO — The city of Arvada announced Monday the completion of its $4.5 million energy conservation project.
Financed by an energy savings performance contract, the project included 15 facility upgrades.
The city selected in 2018 the clean technology company Ameresco, Inc., which specializes in energy efficiency and renewable energy. The company worked with city staff to refurbish the facilities' lighting, plumbing and building envelopes.

The HVAC systems at the Arvada City Hall and Center for Performing Arts were updated, and photovoltaic systems were installed at five facilities, the city said.

“We are excited to have had the opportunity to work closely with Ameresco on this project and further demonstrate our commitment to implementing renewable energy solutions,” said Kim Vagher, facilities division manager, city of Arvada.
The city is expected to see a 6 percent reduction in annual energy consumption, an 11 percent reduction in electrical demand and a 21 percent reduction in total utility costs, city officials said.
