Calling Santa's Helpers: 'ELF' Auditions At Arvada Center

ARVADA, CO – Calling all actors in the Holiday spirit: The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will be holding auditions for a fall production of "ELF – The Musical" in August in Colorado. You can also audition in New York City on September 13.

So, don your gay apparel, dust off your headshot and prepare your tap-dancing routines.

Gavin Mayer will direct the production, with choreography by Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck. Rod A. Lansberry will produce the show.

The show will run, at the Arvada Center from Tuesday, Nov. 20 through Dec. 23, 2018. Eight shows a week of performances will be held Tuesday through Saturday evenings with matinees on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Rehearsals start on Oct. 30.

The directors are looking for dancers and actors of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, but you must be 18 years or older to audition. The show is an Equity LORT B production, but non-equity actors will be considered.

Here are the details:

Aug. 4 Chorus Dance Call noon-1:15 p.m. for women and 1:30 -2:45 p.m. for men.

Bring sheet music and be prepared to sing "16-32 bars from a song appropriate to the style of show." Sign up in advance for the chorus dance call here.

Aug. 6-7: Principal actors 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., by appointment only. Auditions for the role of Michael, (young actor to play 10- 12 years old), will be held from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. on August 6.

Sept. 13. Audition in the Big Apple by sending hard copies of your headshot and resume and the role that interests you in advance to:

There won't be a show in NYC, only auditions.
