Arvada Visitors Center reminds us:

Why should you SHOP SMALL this holiday season?

Small businesses are the backbone of the economy. All you have to do is look at the numbers to know how important the 28 million small business owners are.

Small businesses make up:

• 99.7% of U.S. employer firms

• 98% of all firms exporting goods

• 55% of all jobs and 66% of all new jobs since the 1970s

• 54% of all sales in the U.S.

• 30-50% of all commercial space

• 43% of all high-tech employment

• 33% of the U.S.’s exports value

You get the picture. In short, the U.S. economy would be nowhere close to where it is today without small business.

Small businesses are important to the economy as a whole. Small businesses create jobs, boost Arvada's economy and preserve neighborhoods.
