City's Financial Reports Win Award For 34th Year

Arvada's yearly report was granted a certificate by the Government Finance Officers Association

From GFOA:On November 29, 2018, The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded to the City of Arvada by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR.)

The CAFR contains information summarizing the City’s financial position and is essentially the City’s public financial statement. It is judged by an impartial panel based on the high standards of the program. The main goal is to encourage local government to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The City's Finance Department has won this award 34 times.
