General Election 2020: Jefferson County Ballot Return Report

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Colorado has seen a record-breaking number of early voters ahead of the Nov. 3 election, and Jefferson County is no exception to that trend — as of Wednesday, more than 47,000 ballots were returned by drop box and mail in the county.

Ballots aren't ordered by address, so it's common for voters in the same household to receive their ballots on different days, Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder George Stern reminded voters in an elections update. Anyone who doesn't receive their ballot by Monday is asked to contact the elections office.

As of Wednesday, 47,393 ballots were returned in Jefferson County:

• Republicans: 8,503
• Democrats: 21,590
• Unaffiliated: 16,889
• Minor party: 411

Important election dates in Jefferson County:

• Oct. 19: If you haven't yet received a ballot, contact the Jefferson County Elections Division, which can issue you a replacement by mail until Oct. 26. You can also go to any in-person vote center in Jeffco.
• Oct. 26: Last day to return your ballot by mail to ensure it arrives in time. But drop boxes (election officials' recommended voting method) and in-person vote centers are still open through election day.
• Nov. 3: Election Day — You can use any drop box until 7 p.m., or if you need additional services (registering to vote, getting a replacement ballot, etc.), you can use any vote center up until 7 p.m.
