How To Sign Up For Ballot Tracking In Jefferson County

Here's what you need to know about ballot tracking in Jeffco ahead of Colorado's Nov. 3 election.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — The Nov. 3 election is fast approaching, and there are ways that voters can ensure there are no last-minute surprises holding them back from casting a ballot.

First, voters to make sure they are registered to vote and that their voter registration is up to date.

Then, voters are encouraged to sign up for ballot tracking — you can receive alerts by phone, email or text message by filling out this form. The tracking system will offer updates from the time your ballot is mailed to when it's accepted. BallotTrax will not update your voter registration.

The only information BallotTrax needs is your first name, last name, date of birth and ZIP code. This is the voter registration information that is made available via public records under open records laws. Voter ID is only required when the above information exists for more than one person. You are not required to provide a SSN or license number.

Don't use an alias to log in, or you will be denied access, officials said.

The winners of Colorado's June primary have advanced to the Nov. 3 election, which will also include a number of ballot measures and judicial nominees.

Here are some important dates for the Nov. 3 election:

Oct. 9 - The Jeffco Elections division will mail ballots to all active registered voters and open the county's 24-hour ballot drop boxes.

Oct. 19 - If you haven't yet received a ballot, contact the Jeffco Elections team, which can issue you a replacement by mail until Oct. 26. You can also go to any in-person vote center.

Oct. 26 - Last day to return your ballot by mail to ensure it arrives in time. But drop boxes (Jeffco's recommended voting method) and in-person vote centers will still be open through Election Day.

Nov. 3 - Election Day. You can use any drop box up until 7 p.m., or if you need additional services (registering to vote, getting a replacement ballot, etc.), you can use any vote center until 7 p.m. as well.

Nov. 12 - Last day for ballots cast by military and overseas electors to be received by the county clerk in order to be counted.
