Jeffco Officials Urge Residents To Sign Up For CodeRed Alerts
Here's how to sign up for emergency alerts in Jefferson County.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Many counties in Colorado, including Jefferson County, have launched state-of-the-art notification systems to warn residents of emergencies. Jeffco officials reminded residents to sign up for CodeRED alerts after the Elephant Butte Fire broke out in the Evergreen area.
The system is designed to send alerts about floods, fires, chemical spills, dangerous suspects, evacuations, disasters and other emergencies.
While many counties use the CodeRED emergency notification system, some governments use a different system, such as Arapahoe County's ArapAlert.
