Lockheed Martin To Bring 550 High Paying Jobs To Jefferson County

The company's space division is relocating some of its "Fleet Ballistic Missile" program to its headquarters in the county.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Global security and aerospace giant Lockheed Martin is bringing more than 500 "high paying" jobs to Jefferson County, according to a local economic development group. The company's space division is relocating some of its "Fleet Ballistic Missile" program to its headquarters in the county, according to the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation.

Lockheed is a huge economic driver for the region, the group said in a release. Its operations in the county indirectly create 10,000 jobs and generate billions of dollars for the local economy.

"Over the past 60 plus years, Lockheed Martin has been a catalyst for the county’s aerospace industry," the group said in a release. "Today, Lockheed Martin is Jefferson County’s largest private-sector primary employer, with over 6,200 employees.

Lockheed Martin's headquarters are in Bethesda, Maryland. The company has about 100,000 employees across the globe.

The company will be looking for workers in systems, electrical and mechanical engineering, project management and business operations, KUSA-TV reported.
