Man Accused Of Driving Onto Sidewalk, Striking 10-Year-Old Girl
Jose Manuel Morales-Reyes, 50, was arrested after a 10-year-old student was struck by a Jeep while she was walking on a sidewalk in Arvada.

ARVADA, CO — A man is accused of driving onto a sidewalk and striking a 10-year-old girl Friday in Arvada. The girl was seriously injured, but she's expected to survive, according to the Arvada Police Department.
Jose Manuel Morales-Reyes, 50, faces felony charges of vehicular assault and leaving the scene of a serious injury accident.
He drove a 1998 Jeep Cherokee onto a sidewalk at West 58th Avenue and Dover Street and hit the young student around 3:30 p.m., according to police. He then drove off and returned several minutes later, authorities said. He was arrested soonafter.

Morales-Reyes also faces charges of driving without insurance and driving after his license was revoked. Investigators are also awaiting test results to find out whether Morales-Reyes will face DUI charges.
