Man Charged With Murder In Beating Death Of Grandmother
John Power Swenson, 24, is accused of beating his grandmother to death.
WESTMINSTER, CO — A man is accused of beating his 75-year-old grandmother to death after her body was found Dec. 9 at a seniors housing complex in Westminster. Police officers were conducting a welfare check when they found her body.
John Power Swenson, 24, has been charged with first-degree murder. He appeared in Adams County District Court Tuesday.
Westminster police were called to check on Linda Shomberg at her apartment in the East Bay Senior Housing complex at 3720 68th Avenue Dec. 9, police said.

When the officers arrived, they found the 75-year-old woman in a pool of blood on the bedroom floor, authorities said. She was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital.
