Planning Underway For Northwest Arvada Subarea

Community members are invited to an open house to learn about future development of the northwest Arvada subarea.

Planning is underway for the future development and infrastructure of the area east of Highway 93 to Gladiola Street, including the Indiana Street corridor, between the railroad tracks on the south and the city boundary on the north.

ARVADA, CO — Arvada officials are planning the development of a northwest city corridor, and a community open house is scheduled for Thursday to offer an overview of the goals for the plan and policies.

The plan focuses on the area east of Highway 93 to Gladiola Street, which includes the Indiana Street corridor between the railroad tracks on the south and the city boundary on the north.

The community open house is scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Whisper Creek Police Station Community Room, 14360 W. 89th Drive.

The plan is among several for city subareas that are zoned for mixed-use development.

The plans include goals and policies for land use, urban design, transportation and architectural design.

New Town Sub-Area Plan
The New Town Sub-Area is generally defined as the areas along Wadsworth Boulevard and Bypass between the G Line tracks on the north and Interstate 70 on the south. The Arvada Marketplace shopping center along 52nd Avenue is also included.

Square Lake Sub-Area Plan
The Square Lake Sub-Area is a collaborative project with Adams County that is generally defined as the area east of Sheridan Boulevard to Tennyson Street between 52nd Avenue on the south and 60th Avenue on the north. The city of Arvada portion of the Square Lake area is generally located east of Sheridan Boulevard to Tennyson Street between 58th Avenue and 60th Avenue.
