Trashed Thornton Church: 3 Teens Arrested For $80K Damage

Police said three teens were taken into custody in connection with $80,000 worth of vandalism at North Huron Christian Center.

THORNTON, CO -- Three 15-year old teens were arrested in connection with a vandalism spree at a Thornton church, police announced, calling the acts "senseless and malicious destruction of church property."

Vandals did about $80,000 worth of damage Monday to the North Huron Christian Center / Destiny Outreach Ministries in the 700 block of West 96th Avenue, police said. Alarms went off around 3 p.m.

Chairs were tossed through windows. A projector screen had massive rips. The projector was smashed. The grand piano was upside-down and destroyed. Coffee pots lay inside a gashed drum set. Sound equipment was thrown around the room, their cords ruined. Fire extinguishers were blown into refrigerators.

Three youths were captured on video running out of the church.
