- ACLU sues City of Boulder over camping ban. The American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado has filed a lawsuit against the City Boulder, for the city's ordinance that bans camping and tents in public spaces. According to the ACLU news release, the Boulder's homeless shelter has turned away more than 250 people, mostly on nights with freezing temperatures. (Yahoo!)
- Replacing fossil fuels is the primary goal at Golden's National Renewable Energy Lab. The NREL campus at the base of Golden's South Table Mountain, hopes to have net-zero emissions by the end of 2026. (CPR)
- Boulder County Sheriff candidates seek Latino community support. The two candidates seeking to replace Sheriff Joe Pelle this November as sheriff attended a community forum hosted by the Latino Chamber of Commerce. Louisville Police Chief David Hayes and Boulder County sheriff's deputy Curtis Johnson to spoke to attendees about issues they believe were important to Latino communities. (CO Daily)

- Highest paved road in the U.S. reopens for the summer. Independence Pass has reopened for Memorial Day, though many other high mountain passes remain closed due to late spring snowfall. (9News)

- Nederland Mining Museum set to open for Season. The Nederland Mining Museum allows you to glimpse into Boulder County' hard rock mining past. Both indoor and outdoor displays show how miners lived and the role of rock mining as part of Colorado's history. The museum is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Location: 200 N. Bridge St., Nederland. (BOCO)
- Boulder County is providing free shuttle service on Fridays, weekends and holidays to ferry passengers from Nederland High School (597 County Road 130) to the Hessie Trailhead — a popular entry point to the Lost Lake and the Indian Peaks Wilderness area. The shuttle service begins today, May 27. (BOCO)
- Udall Scholarship awarded to CU student for water resources work. Beth Rossman is a CU Boulder student, from Littleton, that is studying water resources. She is one of 55 students honored with the scholarship for 2022. Students that receive this award are those that show a commitment to leadership, the environment and Native American issues. - If you're headed to Gross Reservoir this summer: Due to construction of an expanded dam, some recreation areas have closed or been relocated at Gross Reservoir. The overall recreation experience will also be be modified throughout the project, so be prepared for those changes. (Denver Water)
