HAPPENING NOW: A wildfire was reported burning in Left Hand Canyon near Deer Trail Road this morning at 4:30 a.m. (FOX31)
Here are the top five stories today in Boulder:
- Another climber in Eldorado Canyon needed to be rescued on Saturday. Last Saturday, Boulder County Rescuers were able to assist an injured climber in Eldorado Canyon State Park. The 29 year-old climber was stabilized on the scene, and then transported by ambulance to a Boulder-area hospital with non life-threatening injuries. (CO Daily)
- Cause and effect: Westword took a deep dive to see how the Marshall Fire has impacted rents around the metro area. (Westword)
- Shrinkflation is real. Have you noticed that products and their packaging are getting smaller? Experts call it "shrinkflation." Basically, you're paying more for less. (9News)
- Planned 50th anniversary Rainbow Gathering sparks wildfire fears. The Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes is planning to return to Colorado this summer to celebrate the first event back in 1972. The size of the event is sparking concerns that with the decentralized nature of the Rainbows, the gathering could accidentally start a wildfire. (CPR)

- Flood plain permit public comments sought. Boulder County is proposing to issue a General Floodplain Development Permit in unincorporated parts of the county.
