Here are the top five stories today in Boulder:
- The State of Colorado only has one full-time fire investigator. The state's ability to investigate wildfires has been scrutinized after the Marshall Fire. Fire investigations are a complicated, nuanced process. (5280)
- Safeway and Albertson's union members set to vote on new deal. The union says the new contract will provide the grocery workers at Safeway with the same kinds of benefits that King Soopers agreed to last month after striking. (CBS4)
- Fentanyl is the cornerstone of most drug overdoses in metro Denver. The district attorney for the 17th Judicial District suggests that no drug should be considered safe, as fentanyl-laced street drugs continue to cause a wave of overdoses across the Denver metro area. (FOX31)
- Most dangerous avalanche conditions of the season this week. According to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, the winter storm that's moved into the state could drop a foot or more west of the Continental Divide – creating potential for dangerous avalanche conditions. (7News)
