Here are the top stories today in Boulder:

  1. Plan to cut ozone in Front Range released. The Regional Air Quality Council has approved a plan to reduce ozone pollution in Denver metro area. Critics say the plan doesn't go far enough to fix the problem. (CBS4)
  2. 30th Street will be shut down for underpass construction Sept. 10 through Sept. 23. Construction of the underpass at the intersection at 30th Street and Colorado will force the closure of these streets to all travel modes from Sept. 10-23. During this time, crews will elevate the intersection and complete additional work on the underpass. (Boulder)
  3. After 45 seasons, it's time for Boulder Dinner Theater's final curtain call. Operating since 1977, the BDT Stage will be wrapping it up its final season in May 2023. The property's been sold, and their planning their final show. (Yahoo!)
  4. In November, voters will decide if grocery stores can sell wine. When Colorado voters head to the polls in November, they'll be weighing in on the state's alcohol-policy war. Three ballot measures that could change booze policy have qualified to be on the ballot. (CO Sun)
  5. USPS launches "Connect" program at 44 metro area post offices. Colorado is one of the first states to try out the US Postal services' USPS Connect program – which includes the addition of expanded same-day and next-day delivery options. (9News)

  • Susan Caskey appointed as Boulder County Director of Housing and Human Services. Susan has been Interim Director of the county's largest department for the past year, and will now take the position as the leader of the department. (BOCO)
  • Disaster emergency for COVID 19 repealed: City Council will resume meeting in-person on Sept. 1, and the public will be able to return to council chambers in October. City staff are creating a protocol for hybrid (virtual and in person) for boards and commissions. (Boulder)
