Bernie's Coming to Boulder

The former presidential candidate is planning a local stop to campaign for gubernatorial candidate Jared Polis.

BOULDER, CO - Sen. Bernie Sanders will include Colorado in his nine-state battleground tour on behalf of Democratic candidates competing in the November elections, reported the Associated Press on Tuesday. Though the exact dates are yet to be confirmed, multiple sources see him swinging through Boulder to stump for gubernatorial candidate Jared Polis sometime at the end of October.

“He wanted to go where he thinks he can be helpful in energizing the base and bringing in young people and independent voters and working-class voters who supported him,” Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ 2016 campaign manager and longtime political adviser, told the Associated Press.

KDVR-Denver reporter Joe St. George speculated on Twitter that October 24 might be the date that Sanders would visit the northern Front Range communities. Eric Walker, a spokesperson for the Colorado Democratic Party, told the Daily Camera that information will be confirmed in the next couple of days.
