Here are the top stories in Boulder today:

  1. Local nonprofit contributes $30,000 to Boulder County for bike path study. Cyclists 4 Community has ponied up a contribution to Boulder County in an effort to partially fund the North Foothills Path. The study, when completed, could lead to millions of dollars invested into a separated bikeway along Highway 93 from Boulder and Lyons. (C4 Community)
  2. Boulder's new wildfire system utilizes technology to reduce response time. Boulder County has installed a new fire-detection system that uses ultra-high-def cameras, artificial intelligence and satellites to detect fires. The first two camera systems are already up and running, one is located on Lee Hill and another one near Eldora. (CBS4)
  3. Metro Denver leaders fly to Houston to discover their homeless solution is Denver's. Houston's solution is based on Denver's original Road Home program, but with a focus on delivering housing first, then coupling it with wraparound services. (Westword)
  4. Boulder City Council supports flood and stormwater master plan. The comprehensive flood master plan was approved unanimously by Boulder's City Council, which includes a focus on 16 major drainage ways across the city. (Yahoo!)
  5. Metro Denver housing market appears to be cooling as the Federal Reserve continues to increase rates. Mortgage interest rate increases continue to have an impact on the housing market, and Denver's market is seeing signs of more homes on the market for a longer period of time, and price reductions on many that were already listed.
