Here are the top five stories in Boulder today:

  1. Bike thieves make off with three bikes valued at $80k. Sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, thieves broke into a business located at 2800 block of Wilderness Place and stole three bicycles. Two of the bikes had unique prototype technology. (KKTV)
  2. Cleaner air on the horizon for Colorado? State lawmakers are working on a $124 million proposal that includes incentives that will speed the state's shift to cleaner air. The money will help offset the cost of switching to electric school buses, e-bikes and cleaner vehicles. Additionally, it will also expand monitoring and regulating air pollution sources. (CPR)
  3. NCAR Fire is 90 percent contained. We can expect to see small amounts of smoke coming from the burn scar over the next week. (Patch)
  4. Crime at Union Station continues to thrive, RTD bringing in more officers. Denver Mayor blames illegal drugs for the ongoing problems at the transit station in downtown. (Yahoo)
  5. Building affordable housing in Fairplay. Habitat For Humanity is working to deliver workforce housing designed to help local police officers, firefighters and teachers purchase affordable homes. (CPR)
