Black Hawk Chopper Transports Climber Who Fell 400 Ft In Boulder
Poor weather conditions Sunday slowed down the rescue of a climber who fell near Isabelle Glacier Lake, the Boulder County Sheriff said.

BOULDER, CO – A National Guard Black Hawk helicopter was used to rush a fallen climber out of the back country Sunday and transfer him to a Flight For Life aircraft, after the man fell about 400 feet off a ridge in Boulder County. The 58-year-old male was severely injured while climbing in the area of Isabelle Glacier Lake, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.
Around 3:20 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a call that the man had fallen. Other hikers stayed with him, and waited while rescuers trekked in about 4 1/2 miles from the trail head in Brainard Lake Recreational Area. Poor weather conditions delayed the rescue efforts, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies along with Boulder County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services, Indian Peak Fire, Rocky Mountain Rescue, Alpine Rescue, American Medical Response ambulance, National Guard, and Flight For Life responded, the sheriff's office said.
