Here are the top stories in Boulder today:

  1. Colorado working other states to save the Colorado River. The two page plan that's been presented, does not include reducing water use in the upper half of the Colorado River Basin. The response stems from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation's recent demand that those states that share the river, find a way to reduce their water consumption and present a cohesive plan by the end of August. (CPR)
  2. Boulder Valley School District study shows students of color are disciplined more. Despite attempts in the past to reform how it disciplines its students, BVSD continues to have issues surrounding how Black and Latino students are punished in comparison to white students. (CO Sun)
  3. Boulder woman is walking across Colorado in order to raise money. India H. Wood decided that she wanted to crisscross the state on foot as a way to bring attention to and raise money for the Audubon Society. (7News)
  4. Boulder's Zero Waste program returns after a two-year hiatus. Businesses in Boulder will once again be able to comply the Universal Zero Waste Ordinance after a two-year break. The ordinance requires restaurants and grocery stores to comply with the rules by filing required forms. (BizWest)
  5. Boulder Planning Board says it's ok for housing in East Boulder. In a rebuff to Boulder City Council, the City's Planning Board approves the East Boulder Subcommunity Plan that included adding housing near the pharmaceutical plant. (Reporting Lab)
