Here are the top stories today in Boulder:
- Housing prices across the county continue to climb. Boulder County was already struggling with housing affordability, but with the loss of thousands of homes, it has only exacerbated the problem. (CO Sun)
- Colorado Department of Transportation launches pedestrian safety campaign. CDOT's new campaign is designed to get drivers to be more aware of pedestrians. The program also includes a list of safety tips drivers and pedestrians can follow. (CBS4)
- Boulder Valley School District is stretched to the max. Between the fire and the pandemic, BVSD has its back up against the wall to deliver quality educational programming to its students. (Patch)
- Explosion destroys Westminster home, human remains found. The department is investigating what caused the explosion and who was in the home at the time. One neighbor indicated that the home had been "burned out, and boarded up" prior to the incident. (7News)
- Boulder County Public Health warns of alarming fentanyl stats. In Colorado, during 2021 there were 1,047 emergency department visits for overdoses from fentanyl. A significant jump from 402 in 2020 and 105 in 2019. (CO Daily)

The Boulder County Board of Health voted to rescind public health orders regarding masking in indoors settings, but to keep yourself and others safe, please mask up when you're at the rec centers.
