  1. Boulder County seeks FEMA funding help to remove Marshall Fire debris. The county has made a request for funds from FEMA's Private Property Debris Removal program. The funds would be used as part of the county's efforts to remove fire debris from parts of Superior, Louisville and the county where homes and businesses burned in the Marshall Fire. (7News)
  2. Boulder County Wildfire Fund receives $250k from 1st Bank. One of the nation's largest privately held banks announced the contribution to the Boulder County Wildfire Fund. (Aspen Real Life)
  3. Former instructor's violent manifesto is filled with racial slurs. Matthew C. Harris, a former instructor at UCLA, allegedly made threats to CU Boulder employees, causing the campus to close for in-person learning on Tuesday. The manifesto appears to be an 802-page screed that included threats to "burn and attack Boulder," which led to his arrest by Boulder Police. The document includes the N-word more than 10,000 times – along with thousands of other racial slurs and derogatory terms. (FOX31)
  4. Waiting for the clean up after the Marshall Fire. Boulder County has a plan to help clean up the debris left from the Marshall Fire, but residents are concerned about how long it's going to take the county actually do the clean up. (Weekly)

  • Students create art displayed downtown! Young artists from Columbine Elementary, Casey Middle School and Boulder High School created 42 new lamp pole banners that have been installed along the Pearl Street Mall. The 2022 Student Banner Project, centers on the theme of Social Justice as part of Boulder Arts Week.
  • Boulder County meeting about rebuilding and clean up after the fire. Boulder County is hosting a second online community meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting is about plans to rebuild areas damaged in the Marshall fire for unincorporated Boulder County and the process for those with destroyed or damaged structures.   • Energy affordability study released by Colorado Energy Office. This is the Polis Administration's program help Coloradans save money by reducing energy costs. The study provides an analysis of existing energy cost burdens and how to achieve energy affordability for all Coloradoans, while also supporting the state's clean air and climate goals. (Colorado)
