Body Of Missing Woman Found In Blue Lake

More than 60 rescuers searched for a woman in Boulder County Tuesday. Her body has been found, officials said.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — The body of a missing 30-year-old woman was found Wednesday morning in Blue Lake, near the western border of Boulder County, officials confirmed. Foul play is not suspected, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

The woman was reported missing just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, and deputies found her vehicle around 11:40 p.m. at the Brainard Lake Recreation Area, officials said.

Around 64 personnel searched for the woman overnight. The search crews used a drone and a search dog. Around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, searchers and passing hikers found the woman's belongings on the shore of Blue Lake, and her body was found submerged in the water, officials said.

At least eight agencies assisted with the search. Blue Lake is at 11,309 feet elevation and a 3-mile hike into the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

An investigation was underway. The woman's official cause and manner of death and her identity will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
