Bone Fragments Found In Search For Marshall Fire Victim: Sheriff
Authorities said tests will determine if the remains are human. They were found at the home of Edna Nadine Turnbull, 91, who is missing.
SUPERIOR, CO —The Boulder County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday said it had recovered small bone fragments while searching the property of Edna Nadine Turnbull, who is the last remaining missing person from the Marshall Fire.
The sheriff's office said scientific testing is taking place to determine if the fragments are human or non-human, and the testing could take weeks or months.
"We remain committed to seeking answers and closure for the Turnbull family," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Turnbull, 91, reportedly was last seen at her property, located in the 500 block of South 76th Street, on Dec. 30, 2021. According to the sheriff's office, after being notified to evacuate, Turnbull entered her residence in an effort to rescue her dogs.
Investigators with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office and Boulder County Coroner's Office have been actively searching the property for Turnbull's remains, authorities said.

The Marshall Fire had one other fatality: 69-year-old Robert Sharp, who was identified earlier this month, according to the Daily Camera.
Sharp's remains were found on the site of his home at 5900 block of Marshall Road in unincorporated Boulder County.
