  1. Boulder Book Store hopes replace kids' books lost in Marshall fire. The local book shop is hoping to raise more than $80,000 to donate $100 gift cards to students who lost their homes and belongings.(9News)
  2. As a result of metro Denver's population boom over the past decade, lots of new homes have been built in fire-prone areas. For many, the devastation caused by the Marshall Fire came as a shock, especially because it was assumed that wildfires were largely a problem for those living in the mountains – not in suburban developments on the plains.   3. The City of Boulder has hight turnover rate, and nearly 100 open positions. More than 16% of City of Boulder employees left their jobs last year, according to the city's data, a number that has remained elevated among pre-pandemic levels.
