Boulder Bike Accident: Police Seek Witnesses Of Crash

A woman cyclist in Boulder was seriously injured Tuesday night. Police are seeking witnesses to the accident.

BOULDER, CO -- A female cyclist was seriously injured Tuesday night in Boulder, and police were asking for anyone who saw the accident to come forward.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Table Mesa Drive and Furman Way.

A 27-year-old female cyclist was traveling eastbound on Table Mesa Drive. The driver of a 2013 white GMC Sierra was making a left-hand turn onto Furman Way off of Table Mesa Drive.

Police are investigating whether the driver of the truck "played a role in the accident," they said in a statement. The driver stayed on-scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Other cyclists stopped to help the woman who was hit, police said. Police ask those cyclists and anyone else in the area that may have witnessed the accident to call Officer D.J. Smith at 720-438-5408.

The cyclist was taken to Boulder Community Health, she is being treated for serious injuries, police said.
